Monique Guimond

Owner & Head Trainer/Behaviorist

BS in Animal Behavior, CPDT-KA and FFCP

Hi everyone! I've always had a calling for working with animals and in 2014, acquired my BS in Animal Behavior from the University of New England. After many years of working at wildlife rehabilitation centers, wolf sanctuaries and at animal shelters, I realized pretty quickly that helping people better understand how their dog(s) communicates was the most rewarding. So, I furthered my education by obtaining my CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed) and FFCP (Fear Free Certified Professional) certifications. These certifications mean that I am dedicated to using the most modern science-based humane training methods.  My goal with clients is to use my positivity, knowledge of behavior and training skills to improve your human canine relationship. Together, we will create a training or behavior modification plan focusing on your goals all while strengthening the foundation of trust, communication and a mutual understanding for one another.  In my spare time, Tuna, Toast and I are usually outside either skiing in the backcountry, camping, hiking, rafting or lounging at home.

Bella Vassos

Intern & Puppy Extraordinaire

Hi all! I'm currently working under Monique to gain the necessary hours to become certified through the CCPDT. I have a lot of knowledge to share, but my specialty is in puppy raising and foundation skills! While I was earning my Bachelor's degree in Wildlife and Conservation Biology from NC State University, I started volunteering as a Young Puppy Trainer for Eyes Ears Nose and Paws, a service dog organization, this is where my journey into the dog training world began. My passion for positive reinforcement training grew as I worked with my own dog, Tugboat. A goofy, but timid Lab/Mastiff/Border Collie mix, he became the catalyst for my passion. Watching Tugboat navigate the world with uncertainty made me realize how crucial understanding dog behavior and body language is for building trust and improving communication. My goal is to help dog guardians strengthen their relationships with their dogs by teaching them how to decode subtle cues and foster a deeper, more empathetic connection. When I'm not training, you'll find me outside running through the classic Steamboat gauntlet of hiking, mountain biking, and skiing. Or, you might catch me unwinding at home, enjoying a good TV show, reading, or working on my latest cross stitch project.
